July 2021: New Designs Published

July has been a busy month for me, which is a good thing after the strange year and a half we've had. Several of my designs were published, which is always exciting. Today I thought I'd share four of my favorites.

Top Left: Tequila Sunrise Wall Hanging from the August issue of I Like Crochet online magazine. I had so much fun designing this piece. I love all the textures and colors, but I think the saguaro cactus is my favorite part.

Bottom Left: Dad's Diner from the June issue of Just CrossStitch magazine. I've been playing around with a diner-themed cross-stitch design for years. After much arranging and rearranging, I finally settled on the version I liked best and submitted it to Just CrossStitch. As you can see, it was accepted! FYI: The pattern includes an alternate chart so you can make a "Mom's Diner" version. The issue is available at Annie's catalog. (Stitched by Vilma Spreuer; photography: Annie's)

Top Right: From the Halloween 2021 issue of Just CrossStitch magazine . . . Meet Zombie Frog! He lived in a swamp, and then he croaked. He's creepy, but cute—don't you think? I had a lot of fun designing the zombified details—the tattered shirt, spellbound eyes, and stitched-up mouth. (Available at Annie's catalog.)

Bottom Right: Another design from the 2021 Just CrossStitch Halloween issue—my I'd Turn Back Pillow. Does the phrase sound familiar? I borrowed it from The Wizard of Oz. I still think that Haunted Forest scene is scary. (Wool felt is from National Nonwovens.)
